Custom Closet

H&R Home and Yard had the opportunity to build a custom closet. Initially, it was a simple shelf with a wooden rod under it for hanging clothes. Our client (Mollie!) wanted a place for long clothes like gowns, a double rod for blouses and pants, plenty of drawers including space for shoes, a built in table for folding clothes, a hat shelf, a full length mirror and places to hang clothes! A tall order for a closet that is 5’ wide by 12’ long. It has a large skylight which is nice but it put some constraints on the depth of the cabinets.

Prepping the space included demolition, moving an electric heater, installing a couple of recessed lights and laying new carpet! We built 4 cabinet carcasses and painted them white. Simple shaker style drawers. Here are some pics!!!

About our Blog

Our blog is intended to keep our family and friends informed and entertained. We are constantly amazed with the beautiful places we visit with our favourite modes of travel and we want to share them with you.  Our travels are made in a 26' Tollycraft boat named Baywolf, a 1975 VW bus named Vincent, a Triumph Speedmaster named Speedy, our feet and our 16' Pelican canoe (it weighs 85lbs so it has different names depending on if we are paddling or portaging!).  We will document some of the ongoing upgrades and repairs and we will share some of our projects done through our little company, H&R Home and Yard.
